MDX designer

 

 

 

On the left hand side there is Cube explorer with five sections:

 

§  Standard dimensions (contains all available dimensions except time dimensions) with

o    hierarchies

o    levels

o    member properties

§  Time dimensions (contains time dimensions only)

§  Measures (contains measures only with one artificial group called Default that contains

all measures sorted by alphabetic order)

§  KPIs (contains KPIs if available)

§  Named Sets (contains named sets defined on server)

 

Use elements from cube explorer drag-n-drop it to the row, column or filter area to create query.

 

 

MDX designer toolbar contains three groups of buttons:

 

                execution group (left hand side)

 

 

        switch between automatic and manual execution

                                 automatic is ON (press to stop automatic execution)

                                   automatic is OFF (press to activate automatic execution)

 

         manual execution (if automatic is off use it to execute MDX)

 

            use to define whether Cell Properties will be defined or not for MDX command

                               NOTE: By default Cell Properties are not included in MDX command

 

    used to edit current MDX command inside MDX editor
